We, at Tabeer Foundation, will ensure that the girls have access to quality education that enables them to complete 10 years of schooling in a dignified manner and grow up to be informed, confident, and self-reliant young women.

To accomplish the plan we need your support.

A public-funded initiative by the Tabeer Foundation.

The marginalised people in the society end up suffering in many ways. it can be hunger, poverty, poor health leading to untimely deaths, domestic violence, early marriage and motherhood, child labor, and so on. Illiteracy and poverty are the main factors that may be held responsible.

Within this group, there is another group that is affected even more: women! If there is any benefit extended, women become secondary.

On an individual basis we have been involved in support activities for these people, from social to legal to health-related, and whatever is required. During these years, we realised the need for an organised support system, and hence came the Tabeer Foundation. We have been a registered organisation for the past two years and have been helping people.

Education being the most important element to help people come out of their difficult and unaccounted lives, we decided to start with that and that too for the girls, as they get no opportunities

We are in the process of constructing a 10+2 Girls’ school in a remote village of Katihar District in Bihar. Kaabar, which is also my native village, is situated 18 kms from main town Katihar. The panchayat area alone has a population of approx 15 – 16000, with not a single government or private school for girls to cater to the needs of this area.

KaabarKothi, as it is popularly called, is a village primarily dependent on agricultural produce for livelihood. Considering the large population, the number of girls in need of school education is quite substantial.

However, due to non availability of a suitable institution, a large chunk of girls is deprived of basic schooling and end up in child marriage and early motherhood. Most of the girls belong to very poor families and finance is another big hurdle in the way of their education.

An institution that can offer affordable education close to their village can help them. After intense interaction with the people of this area and especially women and girls we realised that a school in the vicinity of their village is a welcome initiative.

The attached brochure briefly describes the plan and details of the school planned.

Your contribution and suggestions are  welcome.

With Warm Regards,
